- i usually dont write sincere stuff with my friends, esp to coopra’s questions. but here i am attempting something from heart. why am i doing this go-daanam for prema ? 1. prema was a staunch cow-lover. this photo shows it – every year, she used to force me to take her to a particular lane in ulsoor ( behind anjaneyar temple on bazaar street), where she used to do some kind of pooja/donation for the cows 2. prema loved srirangam. when she was doing good, she used to visit there atleast once a year, and on one occasion stayed for 10 days in mid of summer, when she got a heat-stroke and i had to admit her to apollo trichy ( 2019 i think) 3. after she had a relapse, she took a promise from me about go-daanam at srirangam. not that it means much, but she repeated same promise to my relatives as well. btw, nowadays i have started avoiding the maasikas ( hv already skipped 1 and about to skip the next one scheduled on 23rd feb). but there is ample pressure towards go-daanam. moreover, rajani is also putting added pressure – hence i need to go ahead and do. 4. sampa ( the elder sibling who is alive) was not able to make it for prema demise days. she plaintively asked me – look, i am based in coimbatore. it is only 2 hrs drive for me. atleast give me opportunity to redeem, by enabling the ceremony at srirangam — as a result of all the above, i am performing the go-daanam
