- 8c In one sweep, coopra connected varied subjects : -macroeconomics ( demand elasticity) -accountancy ( cash flow) -astronomy ( universality) -psychology ( over-thinking) -microecomics ( inflation) -basic maths ( retail markup) -advanced maths ( probability theory) -statistics ( index, trend) -geography ( pressure level) -biology ( neurons) -medicinal sciences ( melatonin) -Computer Science and AI ( AI tool enthusiast) and philosophy ( multiplier effect, theory to support submission etc) He is THE BEST Within a short conversation, my guru-naathar writes such awesome sentences ( fit for a book of quotable quotes) : Sample these : 1. “it is nothing about ego. it is only knowledge, display of which is construed as ego” 2. “No need to find route to a place we will never visit” 3. “Wasting useful resources is all part of economics” 4. ” Wasteful activity churns out multicrores, remember” 5. “Everything is economics – demand and supply” 6. “Economics does not limit trading only between humans. It includes also the Gods. BG, Quran, Bible all of these will vouch for it” A sincere statement to both Sundar and Raaman ( pl note my sincerity – i am using your real names here) Enjoyed the discussion on the topic. By sheer instinct, it is natural for me to take Sundar’s side regarding wastage. And it makes it so convenient for my own beliefs as an atheist. Since for me, everything is a WASTE – the places of worship, the castes, the rituals etc, the codification of behaviours based on belief systems, the frictions etc. Even the TIME AND BANDWIDTH one takes to pray to a superior being(which can be used for productive purposes). But Raaman has a compelling argument as well. Human and action sprouts from economics ( the mother of human endeavour). If it is wasteful, then humans would have long back ceased to do it. Eg – we dont eat raw meat any more ( takes longer to digest). We will never be able to return to a hunter-gatherer existence ( even when all research proves that those hunter-humans have been the happiest across the ages). I have had similar kind of argument with my mom many times. And one thing i have constantly realised every time she visited Tirupathi – SHE FELT HAPPY. That, to me, overcame all my sense of logic and inhibition in matters like these. QED Denny – u asked about thiruparangundram For me, it has always been clear that the grand party, its wily Ayodhya politics and its aspirations in TN, is behind all this unrest. So, as usual, I sat down to write a long opinion note defending the TN govt actions. But i deleted it just now, in dismay about a completely different topic. No point, u see. Last weekend, “Durandhar”, a hyper-nationalistic, film ( i’ve seen the movie, it reeks of subtle, covert islamophobia) has had a few critics pan the movie, on pure artistic lines. And u know what’s happening – those very reviewers ( mere film critics) are getting death threats and worse ! That, my friend, is the state of India today. Our country’s winds are skewed, and its getting worse day by day. And we better quickly learn to live amidst these radicalised “Germans”. Laugh with them, agree with them, swallow your pride, look the other way. Resisting and longing for my erstwhile secular India, is only going to cause more pain. So I feel sorry for what we have become today, and where we are headed. I simply dont have the energy to fight, whether among my relatives or in other group same way TPK issue also. u urself have written : mosque was built in the 13th century in memory of the Arab conqueror Sikandar Padusha Shahid so, let us assume what u are saying about vaavar is true ( ie ayya defeated him). so ayya took the full area and gave small place to vaavar. same way sikandar took over whole hill, gave small part to hindus. unakku mathiram ratham, enakku thakkali chutney-aaa refer our discussions yesterday. similar to what @coopra raaman is saying here, sikandar conquered the hill. the hindus there are adimai. no giving, no taking. inspite of that, the muslims have been magnanimous to give most of the temple area back to the hindus. as bonafide losers, vaaya pothikittu they shud light the lamp wherever they are told. matter over. i ask you a simple question ( and i know u will ignore, but still…). vavar mosque has welcomed hindu devotees for ages. muslims administer the place, and own it. i hope we dont have any confusion there. for ages, hindus have done pettai thullal in front of the mosque, broken coconuts, prayed, and then proceeded. this has been the routine accepted practice. Today, a Muslim HC judge from Kochi says – hey, sorry. We will stop this age-old practice. Hindus are no longer welcome to do all those things on our land. Chup-chaap you guys need to go on the side and proceed to your Ayyan. No dancing, no coconut. Both are haraam to us. Sorry. Will you be ok with this break from tradition ( ie tradition that u have known and practiced for time immemorial, suddenly broken by a Muslim HC judge) ? Am aware none of you will hv logical answer to this, but my blood boils, what to do i ask you a simple question ( and i know u will ignore, but still…). vavar mosque has welcomed hindu devotees for ages. muslims administer the place, and own it. i hope we dont have any confusion there. for ages, hindus have done pettai thullal in front of the mosque, broken coconuts, prayed, and then proceeded. this has been the routine accepted practice. Will you be ok with this break from tradition ( ie tradition that u have known and practiced for time immemorial, suddenly broken by a Muslim HC judge) ? Am aware none of you will hv logical answer to this, but my blood boils, what to do something funny happened just now, after reading all these raaman-sundar exchanges my brain said – sundar is totally right. where is there any doubt at all in the first place? Exactly 12 inches away, my heart said – look, inspite of your very clear ideologies from day immemorial, sundar raped you ( and irreversibly so), when all you had done was to indulge in some childish comedy ( which has always been ur style). So, 6 inches midway between the brain and heart, my mouth said – Therefore, just shut up and mind your business ! so ironic, right ? v many qns is peedam open to late nite can i go inside without poonol or shud i wear one i will be in walking dress ie shorts tshirt. shud i carry one vesti in my walk do they give evening snacks or dinner daanam? any timings? i want to just catch a glimpse of vijay or ganesh. am serious. assuming they are in town. is that easily possible? any advice? any other activity i can do at the peedam any temple visits u can recommend for the nite/late eve – i anyway will be visiting varadaraja swamy temple. if u remember, naduvan had given hit-job on the poojari of this very temple. i also want to see that place in the precints where that bluefilm video was captured. on monday morning i plan to visit the peedam museum, which is on the highway itself, and then leave for blr around 12 noon any other inputs – if u know any local contacts who i can approach? — @coopra raaman , @hasina harisa @kaca moga – look fwd to ur inputs. after all, the place is ur root, ur mother-tree, ur eyva
