ttt caretaker by name shilpa has joined today morning, for prema. she joined at manipal itself, and being trainef by lakshmi aunty😀. the previous caretaker triveni has been sent away since amma was not very comfortable. shilpa is young person, speaks kannada. she comes from rmm healthcare, a big agency from south blr. they were refered by ramya ( prema friend prabha’s daughter). her no is also given above for emergency manipal checkout now ( 9am, 11 oct) after 8 days. amma ok, stable. but total 14 medicines every day ( morning to nite). plus injections every week. ——- reviews are scheduled on weekly basis with blood tests every 3-4 days prema on *cctv* at home. in hospital bed. getting ready for 8pm prayer meeting *prema update, 15 oct, 6pm* taking prema to venus hospital. unable to pass motion, dulceflex suppositories not working since 1pm, she is suffering a bit, so went and met doc. he said get her we will do enema and admit if reqd *prema update summary after manipal discharge – wed to sunday* continues to be weak, v less food intake, hemoglobin at 7.6, papaya leaf given, figs tried and given, v less sleep in nite even after restyl ( only 1 day proper sleep). otherwise no pain in body or stomach or back. at 7pm sunday now enema is going on in hospital. they will decide whether to admit because she very weak, may again need drips. let us see. will update regularly prema discharged from venus. after 30-45 minutes of edema, she got relief. so we got her back home by 9pm. she has then eaten something. now she is better *dear all,* *as u know, my mom prema was in hospital till 11th oct. now she is back home but very slowly recovering.* *_hence we will not be conducting the get-together planned for 28th october_. please cancel your tickets if you have made the bookings already, and my sincere apologies prema update, 20 oct 2023, 8pm prema is better for last two days. mouth ulcer has gone away. little bit chest congestion so having steam inhalation. slowly walking from room to hall. eating is better. but still 13 tablets every day. so summary = she is better than last week, let us see 21 oct, 730pm admitting prema in manipal now. details later prema in manipal emergency. she was not able to breathe, heavy chest congestion, spo2 came to 85. now she is in bed 7 of emergency, put on oxygen concentrator, xrays and other tests ongoing, will update athai with oxygen at manipal, anu. i just told her about ur message and she told me to say her hello to anu and family prema at 11pm in emergency. they removed oxygen machine for 5 mins, for taking her medicine. diagnosis = severe chest congestion with viral infection, low saturation levels. xray shows many bad patches in lung. “maybe due to cancer spread also. anyway dr poonam will review on monday. poonam has asked us to admit her, we will put her on antibiotics and continue oxygen. let poonam decide next step on monday. we will do some more tests on her tomorow. we will shift her to ward in 1 hour time yesterday many tests again taken-pet scan, ct scan, some pulmo scan ( hp1 something) etc. four hours oxygen given yday between 3pm and 7pm. she breathing better after that. doctors incl poonam will visit today morning, scan reports will come only after 3pm today, so she will be in hospital till tomorow atleast i think *prema update, 4pm, 23 oct* phlegm has still not come down. many injections daily. plus oxygen full-time ( oxygen tube) plus nebuliser 4-5 times daily. amma quite uncomfortable and not able to sleep properly. i asked doctor about discharge. he scolded me and said wait for phlegm to come down, we will then see. so i think discharge on wed or thu only ( minimum). i have made areangement for 27th ( friday) homams but seeing position now, amma may not be in position to participate. *so i spoke to sampa dhodamma and she also agreed. we will postpone the homam poojas also to later date. pl note, sorry for inconvenience *prema update, 24 oct, 7am* till 2 am, was restless. then duty doctor recommended more restyl, so we gave her 2 more restyl tablet ( so total for nite = 3 tablets). from 3 am slept properly. but now 7 am she is talking in her sleep things like “hv we reached tirupathi?”, “did the homam happen” and a few other blabberings. but sleeping anyway, i fed her some horlicks also. she herself removed oxygen tube around 6am, now sleeping without oxygen support. nebulisation, injections etc happened during nite. little bit of cough ( about 5 times every hour) 25 oct, 9am* last nite shilpa was there ( i went home). she did not sleep well in nite ( inspite of sleep medicines). again many injections given. still on oxygen support ( it has not been removed). till yesterday she was talking with wheezing, but today i feel that phlegm ( kapaa) has come down because she is talking little without wheezing. anyway doctors coming from 930am, let us see what they say. i also feel we can take better care of her if she comes home, so i will try my best to request doctors to take her home, lets see doctors came and saw. 1.wheezing is there, only slightly gone down, so no discharge for next 2 days, let us see on friday 2. pl get oxygen concentrator and keep immediately at home. she may need it as soon as u reach home 3. here at hospital, pl try to maje her sit for 30 min a day for eating etc. she should get some energy back so pl try to force her eating 4. on friday, dr guruprasad, pulmo, will take call regarding discharge. till then no 5. her other reports, blood test etc do not show significant change from earlier. but her hemo count is still v low, so she needs to eat 6. no problem, u can give her pomegranate juice. any food she can eat, no restrictions prema not getting alright. we are trying best, but her kapaa ( phlegm) not coming down. she still suffering with difficult breathing inspite of oxygen etc. also sugar is big problem – afternoon 2 pm sugar was 240 ( high sugar), evening 6 pm sugar became very low ( 39). she fainted for few mins and imm they gave dextrose 25 and she recovered. so really dont know whats happening in her body. her hands and legs also swollen little. pulmo doctor has now told atleast 3 more days ( already she has been there for 6 days in this round). pulmo doctor also said i will not discharge till u keep oxygen concentrator ready at home, so i am buying one immediately tomorow morning. anyway let us do our best and see 26 oct, 9pm* kapaa ( phlegm) is better. 5-6 hours without oxygen today, but again she is now on oxygen. doctors today she can discharge in evening if we want, but i prefered to discharge her tomorow only ( am still not confident). at home, i have purchased new oxygen concentrator and kept ready for her. so for future breathing difficulties, it will help. will update after she returns home. latha chikkamma was with prema in hospital during day and they were talking many things to each other *prema update, 11am, 27 oct* all formalities completed, doctors said ok, so we are duscharging prema now from manipal. oxygen machine ready at home, so we will keep her comfortable. shud reach home by 1230pm i think *we are conducting homam/pooja for prema tomorow morning. very suddenly arranged, so sorry for short notice/information. sunday morning ( 29 oct) at rmn square, vignan nagar. 9am to around 12 noon followed by lunch. naveen aachaar from nearby ganesha temple is conducting. ganapathy homam, navagraha homam, mrityunjaya homam plus ishta devuru homam ( lakshmi narayana homam). rajani and sathish will sit and do the homams* *if it is convenient, please do attend. again sorry for short notice, but today afternoon onwards, prema ( who is bit healthier now) was continuously asking, so i immediately went and arranged deciding whether ambulance or cab since oxygen support may be required myself and rajani did all the homams and pujas today for prema. with latha chikkamma help, prema took bath in morning, changed to saree. latha did shuddhi of house( because of lunar eclipse). total puja time 2.5 hours. for 1 hr prema sat in wheelchair in hall. she was active, then she went inside room when agni started. naveen aachar did homams nicely and patiently. he also went to prema room and conducted some small puja. fruits, coconut, flowers, ghee etc. latha prepared panchaamrutham. rajani mom, latha participated in the homams today. we had paayasa, holige, chitranna, curd rice lunch from udupi party hall. function finished by 1pm and we all took rest seek blessings from prema siblings and spouses, and appa relatives. thank u. most most txs to latha chikkamma who did all the big work today thank u chikkappa for sending latha chikkamma. it was really great to have latha here for these days. prema’s caretaker had gone on emergency leave last evening, for 2 days, so latha chikkamma did double work and was so busy.amazing energy i showed prema both anu messages. she again asking- where is anu, where is anu? can we keep prasadam in fridge for her? can she come and take?🤗 ( prema still on steroids so she is still confused about blr, chennai etc, so she is olarifying. sorry latha chikkamma left safely for srirangam today. boarded bus. once again thanks to latha chikkamma for fully taking care of prema for last week *prema update, 8pm, 2 nov 2023* her last discharge from hospital was 27th oct. so last 6 days at home. she is better, phlegm is slowly reducing ( we do nebulisation properly 5 times a day). also 1-2 hours oxygen ( 2 liters/min) is given. she is eating much better. sitting for 3-4 hours every day to watch TV. i have given her target – no more hospital visit till nov 30, and she shud eat like this only. if this happens, i will take her to tirupathi Rs 10000 ( *2) darshan in dec 1st week itself. so she is forcing herself to eat now ! old helper girl ( shilpa) was horrible. so we got new helper from agency ( saraswathi from bengal – tribal). she is ok ( of course,only 2 days have passed so lets see). but two small problems – she and prema cannot talk to each other ( language problem). also, she is fully illiterate, so cannot identify even phone numbers ( uses basic nokia phone and can call inky few nos like her family nos). . anyway we are managing. amma actually is happy about it bcos triveni full whatsapp and video, and shilpa was full phone call ! —— charu ( amma friend) came last week. ratnamala ( friend) visited. sowmya came yesterday. arvind is coming to visit her tomorow lunchtime. raama ( friend) coming evening time tomorow. anusha coming for weekend. viji and viji bava coming on 16th nov ( till 25 nov)
