ttt prema health update, 24th june 2024 2pm : breathing problem still continues ( konjam, not very bad). but today 4 times loose motion already so very weak. maybe reaction due to hemoglobin transfusion but dont know. another 6 transfusion we have give next 12 days, lets see, maybe i will give only 2 or 3 more. anyway prema no pain and lying down one corner no problem. if she talking then very tired. so as much as possible she shud avoid talk prema update 930pm, wed, 3 july – all is not good. her o2 is dipping v slowly inspite of 4.5Lpm speed. situation is worrying only, pl pray for best. dr poonam at manipal, who i met today, also confirmed to me saying – “no need to get her here. we cant do much. let her be comfortable at home, just do oxygen and give crocin if pain, thats all” *prema update, 12 noon, sunday, 7th july 2024* prema oxygen stable. full-time oxygen machine ( except for 2 hours in evening 6-8pm, when nebulisation is done). so 22 hours out of 24 hours a day oxygen support @ 3 litres/minute With machine, spo2 level = around 93-97. without machine, spo2 level = 84-89 prema conscious, is talking a few words, still taking part in 8pm family conference call. sometimes no sleep so sleep medicine. in morning restless sometime ( eg today she complained “something happening in my body, i am very uneasy”. after 2 hours became ok) So prema very comfortable. No pain as of now. So except for breathing problem, she is mostly stable. food intake is less but we are forcing. she had fever for 3 days last week but now ok. Lot of Phelgm ( “Kapa”) is there but it is not coming out. Antibiotic cycle was given last week but i dont think any use. So there must be fluid in lungs ( dont know). only vitamin medicines and general health medicines. cancer medicines stopped last week on doctor advice. Two full-time nursing helpers at home. Also full UPS system for 24-hour oxygen supply in case of power cut. Two oxygen machines ( 1 machine is backup). So all support taken care of. on recommendation of Dr Poonam Patil ( prema’s manipal oncologist), we met Karunashraya ( Dr Reena,Dr Kumar, Michelle) – Maarathahalli main road near Maangalya Suryodhaya apartment – https://karunashraya.org/ ( Bengaluru’s palliative-care hospital for end-stage cancer patients). They are coming for first visit on July 10, Wedneday ( both home doctor and “end-stage-counsellor”). They will come once every week till end of life. Manipal has told no need patient to visit hospital in future. But if in case Prema has too much pain in future, we can take prema to karunashraya by ambulance where they will do palliative care with “morphine” 14th july, sunday* prema stable, no fresh update. full-time oxygen ( 22 out of 24 hours). 1 hour nebuliser, 1 hour free nose and mouth. without oxygen, spo2 is 80-83. with oxygen it is 94-97. everyday we are taking BP. BP is quite low – 110 by 55 usually. very weak as usual, sleep also for 20-21 hours a day. but no complaint of pain. oxygen levels maintained due to oxygen machine. for constipation and block she is taking daily tonic. plus sampa periyamma has advised on oil massage treatment which we are giving hemoglobin is very low ( around 5+). *myself and murali maama met downstairs doctor dr rajashekar on wednesday evening* ( 10th july). he also said no further “treatment” is possible, because body will reject any transfusion. but some iron tonic daily she is taking, thats all. karunashraya visited on wednesday (nurses plus counsellor). counsellor spoke to prema for one hour ( general stuff). otherwise nothing major in their visit. *after more than 12-15 days with us, latha chikkamma has booked for back to srirangam tomorrow. most most thanks to latha chikkamma* *viji chikkamma also visiting daily and giving oil massage to prema and taking care fully* So everything is ok. eg today suddenly prema has got slightly more energy. she asked latha to make soup and rasam for her ( first time in many months, she asking to eat something specific) bhuvana daughter of indira dharmapuri prema cousin visited on 3 aug 2024 to meet amma health better now. no oxygen for last 10 days, only nebulisation. txs prema is ok. managing. very much miracle that she is still around after 14 months of diagnosis. about 6-8 hours a day she is in wheelchair. rest of time rest or sleep on the bed. not able to walk, but maybe 15-20 steps at a time inside house and with support she can walk she sometimes helping out our maid in kitchen by giving instruction etc. so keeping herself active with family whatsapp call, sriraamajayam writing. also whenever any festival, she makes arrangement in the puja room and also helps cook item eg – seedai etc. listening to many many many youtube religious videos. her favourite speakers – vijaya sundari, latha kathirvel, gajendra moksha, vittaldas maharaj, desa mangayarkarasi, so so meenakshi sundaram, gopal daasar etc. occupies her time with some reading thamizh sacred books also – also on whatsapp family group commenting etc mind still very alert – kanakku, demanding money, fighting etc last two weeks we did 10 rounds of physiotherapy to help her to walk. she wanted to go in auto/car to a temple, so she is doing practice for walk small problems are : she says she does not get hungry. so hunger medicine given. also sometimes constipation. otherwise sleep is ok bp and oxygen normal mostly – she also is not very weak so i think hemoglobin is ok After june 19th, 2024, last 4-5 months, all main canccer medicine stopped. we are giving only vitamin, thyroid, sugar medicine. all injections stopped. all blood tests stopped ( so i dont know what her exact measurement is. and she is also refusing to do any test). all doctor visits stopped net-net, prema is comfortable. managing. we are praying god for her continued peaceful life with all blessings from elders and wishes from everyone, prema health is quite ok as of now. no hospital, no doctor visit, no injection, no cancer medicines. only she is taking medicine for pasi and also some vitamins, sugar etc. she is ok, small walk inside house itself every day. seetha caretaken has gone ( some problem in her village), again saraswathi has come. with compulsion, prema did blood health checkup 10 days back. only hemglobin was little less – 8.4, other parameters more or less in control. so prema in decent health condition ( though we dont know ulla what is happening 😀 ). ——- appa 16th anniversary ( english calendar) was today – 15th nov 2024. So, as per relgious calendar, on 18th nov, i am doing appa ceremony at HAL raghavendra mutt ( near hal kalyana mantap, near indiranagar). if convenient for anyone, pl do attend. i need blessings from all elders for the event 13/12/24, 7:07 am – Sathish: Good morning, Warm wishes and hope all is good. Here Prema is also doing fine, and last 4 months definitely better. We are praying for her comfortable and painless health. As per Prema wishes, we are doing Pooja at Chennai at Raghavendra Mutt ( Raghavaiah Road, T Nagar, Chennai) on *Sunday morning 9 am onwards ( 15th Dec 2024) – Kanakaabishegam and Sathyanaarayana Pooja, followed by Theertha Prasaada (lunch).* Infact Prema is coming to Chennai after 2 years ( and first time after her treatment started in Aug 2023). So, please accept our warm invite for the Sunday religious ceremony. *Also, in case you wish to meet Prema, from Saturday afternoon onwards, we will be in Hotel Benzz Park ( right opp Vani Mahaal, and close to Raghavendra Mutt). ( 9742766951 and 9916128085)* 05/06/25, 12:59 pm – Sathish: Good afternoon and Namaskaaram to everybody, *After very long time, am giving update on Prema health. My last update was in Dec 1st week of 2024. Now we are in June 2025*. Prema health is somewhat ok, no big issue. Last one year, no more Manipal hospital, no cancer medicines etc. Only nebulisation ( steam – 4 times a day), no oxygen. Last month we took her to “Karunaashraya”, which is a trust hospital for “END-STAGE” cancer patients in Bengaluru. ( Amma’s cancer doctor ( Dr Poonam of Manipal) refered us to them about 1 year back). Main health problems now ( not very big) = a. Shoulder pain ( helper is doing oil massage) b. No bladder control ( so we are thinking about tube, but not sure) She is ok otherwise as usual. But last one-two weeks she is getting lot of breathing problem even if she walks a few steps. So lung problem is there, but we dont know how big or how serious. Prema is cheerful as always, and she sends her best wishes to everybody. *Starting Jan 2025, Prema has been doing lot of donation towards temples, charity trusts etc, and getting blessings from them. So she is also happy mentally* (It is definitely miracle that she is still around, since it is about 2 years since her cancer relapse, and about 1 year after the June 2024 serious condition) with all your respectful permission, i am closing this group – “prema health update” It was a great connection with everyone and it was nice getting updates of Amma’s health during the last one and half years.
