vvv today 19 aug 2025 i went to gym wearing my smartwatch for first time. u can see my activity here. after warmup for 5 min, i switched on activity at 1638 hrs, next 50 mins was pure gymming. though the set of exercises is varied, there is no “gym” option in garmin, it either says “strength” or “cardio”. so i put strength. so, thru the 50 min, my heart rate bpm was from 150 down to 90 ( when i rested). but u can see the red avg – it is around 120 bpm. In a 50-minute window, i burn 380 calories only ( srikant burns 600 calories per session of badminton). interestingly, unlike running, it says “training effect” is anerobic. it also shows “4 workouts” – but i obviously did many – i did dumbbells three positions, lying down weights, triceps, burpees, worlds greatest stretch, stick side to side, hands-up run, toe touch with step bar, elliptical at the end. back did pain a bit, now its ok. u can also see how the heart has behaved – it starts off with big jump to 150 when i commence, then remains at 120 for next 30 mins, last 10 mins when i try to do more vigorously, my rate shot up to 160 types
